Fourth Teen Arrested Over Elizabeth Shopping Centre Stabbing
Fourth Teen Arrested Over Elizabeth Shopping Centre Stabbing

A 17-year-old boy has become the fourth person charged in connection with a stabbing at Elizabeth City Centre in Adelaide's northern suburbs last week. The teenager was arrested at a property in Davoren Park on Wednesday and has been granted police bail to appear at Elizabeth Magistrates Court in January.

The stabbing occurred on Friday afternoon when a fight broke out between a group of males, leading to the shopping centre being placed in lockdown and shoppers evacuated. Two victims sustained serious injuries: a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg and a 20-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his abdomen, both described as life-threatening and critical.

The 17-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated affray, and possession of a prohibited weapon. His arrest follows earlier charges against two teenage boys: a 16-year-old from Elizabeth Downs charged with affray and two counts of causing serious harm, and a 17-year-old from Craigmore charged with aggravated assault and affray.

In the Adelaide Youth Court on Monday, a prosecutor indicated that an application to transfer one accused's case to an adult court would likely be considered, as the teenager was two weeks shy of his 18th birthday. Additionally, an 18-year-old man from Paralowie was arrested and charged on Monday with aggravated assault and aggravated affray, receiving police bail to appear in court next month.

Police have stated that the individuals involved were known to each other and the incident was not random. They are urging any witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
