Missing 67-Year-Old Man Found After PolAir Helicopter Search Over Mount Keira

A 67-year-old man who went missing in the Illawarra region has been found safe after a police helicopter was deployed to search for him over Mount Keira and the surrounding escarpment.

The man was last seen in Gerroa on Friday, March 6, and police held concerns for his welfare as he required regular medication and his disappearance was out of character.

A witness reported seeing the PolAir helicopter flying and hovering over Mount Keira, Mount Ousley, and Mount Pleasant from around 8.45am on Tuesday, March 10.

NSW Police issued a statewide alert at 8.52am on Tuesday, stating that the man was known to frequent the Wollongong, South Coast, and Greater Illawarra areas.

Police have not released further details about the man's condition or where he was found.
