Winter TV Guide 2026: Must-Watch Shows and Series to Binge

As the weather turns chilly, networks and streamers are rolling out a wave of new content across July and August. Whether you crave high-stakes espionage, historical mysteries, or gripping live sport from the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, there's plenty to enjoy from the comfort of your couch.

Saint-Pierre (July 3, ABC)

This quirky detective series is filmed on location in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, a tiny French archipelago off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. Allan Hawco stars as Donny "Fitz" Fitzpatrick, a detective dispatched to the remote hamlet—think Death in Paradise without the sun.

Enola Holmes 3 (July 1, Netflix)

The third film in the popular franchise sees Millie Bobby Brown's Enola tracking down her brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill) from kidnappers, with the action moving from Victorian England to the Mediterranean. Helena Bonham Carter and Louis Patridge also star.

Little House on the Prairie (July 9, Netflix)

This reimagining of Laura Ingalls Wilder's classic novel stars Australian actor Luke Bracey as Charles "Pa" Ingalls and Crosby Fitzgerald as Ma. Reports indicate this version will offer a less idealized, soft-focus tale than the iconic 1970s series.

Lucky (July 15, Apple TV Plus)

Based on Marissa Stapley's bestselling novel, this seven-part series follows Anya Taylor-Joy as Luciana "Lucky" Armstrong, a con artist on the run after a heist gone wrong. Timothy Olyphant and Annette Bening co-star, with Shōgun director Jonathan Van Tulleken at the helm. Described as "Killing Eve 2.0."

Ride or Die (July 15, Prime Video)

Hannah Waddingham plays an assassin-for-hire whose best friend (Octavia Spencer) discovers her double life and gets pulled into a high-stakes world after a night out. This global action comedy series promises plenty of fun.

Heartstopper Forever (July 17, Netflix)

Instead of a fourth season, Netflix and creator Alice Oseman conclude Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie's (Joe Locke) story with a feature-length film exploring their transition from school to the real world. All favorite characters return.

The F Ward (July 17, Stan)

From the team behind Bump, this medical drama set in Sydney's underfunded Pines Hospital follows interns completing their training. Starring Anna Friel, Ioane Sa'ula, and Dan Wyllie, it's already generating buzz.

Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games (July 23, Seven)

The Seven Network broadcasts the Commonwealth Games with presenters including Matt Shirvington, Emma Freedman, Johanna Griggs, Matt White, Rebecca Maddern, and Bruce McAvaney. The event follows the World Cup for sports fans.

Drag Race Down Under vs the World (July 24, Stan)

For the first time in Drag Race history, queens from across the globe compete with Australia's finest for the title "Queen of the Mother Tucking World!" Michelle Visage hosts, with Rhys Nicholson and season four winner Lazy Susan judging.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe (July 24, HBO Max)

A spin-off of The Big Bang Theory, this sci-fi comedy follows Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman) as he tries to restore reality after breaking a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, causing a multiverse Armageddon. Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie co-star.

Colin from Accounts S3 (July 27, Foxtel and Binge)

The third season of the Australian favorite picks up after Gordon (Patrick Brammall) awkwardly proposes to Ashley (Harriett Dyer). Viewers will finally learn her answer, though it's not looking promising.

Lioness S3 (August 2, Paramount Plus)

Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman star in this female-led espionage thriller about CIA agents in the Lioness program fighting the war on terror. This season, danger hits closer to home for Joe (Saldaña).

The Traitors Australia (August, Ten)

Gretel Killeen hosts the Australian version of the hit reality competition, following the success of Celebrity Traitors UK. If it matches the UK version's quality, viewers are in for a treat.

Ted Lasso (August 5, Apple TV Plus)

Ted (Jason Sudeikis) returns to oversee a second-division women's football team. All favorites return, including Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), and Keeley (Juno Temple), alongside a new cast of female stars.

The Airport Chaplain (coming soon, SBS)

Hugo Weaving and Shabana Azeez star in this eight-part drama set in a bustling international airport, exploring the struggles and triumphs of workers keeping it running.

Lanterns (August 17, HBO)

From Ozark showrunner Chris Mundy and EP Damon Lindelof, this DC Comics Green Lantern spin-off follows Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) investigating a murder in a small Nebraska town. Expect character-driven drama over superhero spectacle.
