Meghan Markle's Father Pleads for Reunion After Leg Amputation

Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, has issued a desperate plea from his hospital bed in Cebu, Philippines, asking his daughter to visit him after his leg amputation surgery. The 81-year-old, who had his left leg amputated below the knee due to a blood clot, is recovering in intensive care and has expressed a desire to see his daughter, son-in-law Prince Harry, and grandchildren before he dies.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, Thomas Markle disputed reports that Meghan had reached out to him following the surgery. He stated that he has not changed his phone number since their estrangement began in 2018, hoping she would contact him, but has heard nothing. A hospital representative confirmed that neither Meghan nor her representatives have been in touch, contradicting a statement from a spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex who claimed she had reached out.

Thomas Markle's half-sister, Samantha Markle, also slammed reports of contact, tweeting that there has been no communication and accusing Meghan of PR tactics. The hospital in Cebu, where Thomas is a VIP patient, stated that no calls from Meghan or her team were received, leaving staff confused by the earlier reports.

Thomas Markle has suffered from ill health in recent years, including a stroke and two heart attacks. He was unable to walk Meghan down the aisle at her wedding in 2018 after posing for paparazzi photos. His son, Thomas Jr., has been by his side during his recovery, describing the amputation as a life-or-death decision.
