Marty Haynes, the longtime breakfast radio host on i98FM, has announced he is leaving the airwaves after 22 years to pursue a career in real estate. The 60-year-old Bulli resident made the announcement in December 2024, citing a desire for a new challenge.
Haynes will join Ray White Five Islands Group as a key brand ambassador and agent. The group is a new venture by Daniel and Jennifer Norris, expanding their Ray White Dapto and Horsley operations across the Illawarra.
Haynes began his career as a cameraman for Channel 9, working under the legendary Graham Kennedy, before becoming a fixture on Illawarra breakfast radio. He is also the founder of the Illawarra Convoy, which has raised over $30 million for local families.
Haynes said his initial goal is to obtain his auctioneering accreditation, a field where he feels comfortable due to his experience in front of crowds. He is currently learning about the property industry and has at least one property listing confirmed.
Ray White New South Wales/ACT CEO Tim Snell welcomed Haynes, stating that his name is synonymous with integrity and the Illawarra spirit. Haynes will continue his work with the Illawarra Convoy and WIN Corporation alongside his new real estate role.
