Keith Urban has returned to social media for the first time since his divorce from Nicole Kidman was announced, sharing a lighthearted video on Instagram. The country music star posted the clip on Sunday, poking fun at his past hairstyles and fashion choices from the 1990s.
The video comes from Urban's new CBS show The Road, which follows 12 emerging musicians competing to open for him on tour. In the clip, Urban appears alongside country singer Blake Shelton, who produces the show, as they look back at old photos and magazine features.
Shelton jokes about their awkward phases in Nashville, revealing a photo of Urban with long, straight blond hair and a unique vest. Urban laughs, admitting that was his look when he first arrived in the United States. He quips, 'I can't understand why I wasn't getting signed.'
Shelton then suggests it may be time for Urban to change his hairstyle, noting he has had the same look since 2001. Urban had not posted on Instagram since September 27, before news of the separation emerged.
Kidman filed for divorce in Nashville on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, married in 2006, have two daughters: Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14. According to leaked divorce filings, Kidman is seeking primary custody of the children but is not requesting child support, as both list monthly incomes exceeding $100,000.
