Home and Away stars Sophie Dillman and Patrick O'Connor are engaged. The former co-stars, who dated both on and off-screen, shared the happy news on Sunday in separate Instagram posts.
Dillman, who played Ziggy Astoni on the hit Australian drama, posted a series of photos from the proposal, which took place on a Sydney beach with the city skyline as a backdrop. “Home has always been with you,” Dillman captioned the sweet post. O'Connor, who portrayed Dean Thompson on the show, shared behind-the-scenes images of the moment he got down on one knee, along with a close-up shot of the stunning ring by Sydney atelier Mendel Rose.
Dillman and O'Connor originally met at acting school, with their romance later developing once they both secured roles on Home and Away. Their characters were romantically involved on screen, with the actors becoming a real-life couple in 2019. The couple left the show together in 2023 before moving to the UK to work and travel.
Former castmates were quick to celebrate the engagement, flooding the comments section with messages of love and congratulations. Lynne McGranger wrote, “Awww loads of love to you both! How wonderful,” while Georgie Parker commented, “Oh sweethearts, huge love to both of you. Could NOT be happier for you.” Angelina Thomson shared, “The richest feeling in the world!! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LOVE TO YOU BOTH!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!”
In March 2025, Dillman and O'Connor briefly returned to Home and Away, delighting fans of the long-running series. O'Connor added, “I can’t wait for the action, and for fans to see this storyline play out.”
