Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has rejected claims that she plans to clone Queen Elizabeth II's corgis for a reality television series. In a statement to People magazine, Ferguson's representative said she regularly receives TV offers but always declines, including the proposal involving the late Queen's dogs.
The denial follows a Daily Mail report from May 2023 claiming Ferguson had discussed featuring the corgis in a show with US production companies. The tabloid alleged producers developed a synopsis for a series where Ferguson would clone the royal pups, but her representative stated conversations ended after she declined the opportunity.
Ferguson and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, took in the Queen's corgis Muick and Sandy after her death in September 2022. The Queen owned over 30 corgis and dorgis during her lifetime, with only Muick and Sandy surviving her.
The Daily Mail suggested Ferguson's income was affected by King Charles cutting Andrew's allowance. Royal author Richard Fitzwilliams criticized the cloning idea as 'unbelievably grotesque and utterly bizarre.'
