Farmer Wants a Wife Stars David and Emily Announce Engagement

Farmer Wants a Wife stars David and Emily have announced their engagement, just months after the final episode of the show aired. The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post on Monday, with Emily showing off her engagement ring while wrapped in David's arms.

David proposed at Evamor Valley in Mudgee, the location of their 24-hour solo date on the Channel 7 show. He said he chose the spot because it was where he first truly fell in love with Emily during season 13. 'There was a moment at Evamor, when we were having a glass of wine as the sun was setting and I just knew this was something special,' he said.

Emily said the proposal came as a complete surprise. 'It was just such a surreal moment - David kept the secret very well. I had absolutely no clue!' she said. She added that returning to Evamor Valley brought back many memories of their early feelings for each other.

After filming wrapped in December 2022, Emily moved from Brisbane to Pozieres, Queensland, to start her life with David. She now works full-time as a special education aide at a local primary school and teaches dance at night. David noted that the show 'always accelerates the idea of where things might go,' but the couple is happy and has found their groove on the farm.
