A Brisbane mother's treasured Lego collection has raised more than half a million dollars at an online auction that is still underway. The collection, consisting of over 2,000 sets amassed over more than four decades, went up for sale earlier this month.
According to Lloyds Auctions, the haul is one of the largest private collections ever put up for auction. The bidding war has been so successful that the owner is now selling additional built pieces, including replicas of Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium, the Colosseum, the Titanic, and a Mini Cooper.
Rachael McCann from Lloyds Auctions noted the success of the auction, stating that more pieces are being offered due to the high demand. The final total is expected to climb as the auction continues.
