A 36-year-old man from Canberra has been arrested and charged with nearly 70 offences related to sexual assault and violence, according to ACT police. The arrest took place on Thursday after a search of his home in Bruce by officers from the sexual assault and child abuse team.
Police reported that multiple women came forward in late 2025 and early 2026 to accuse the man of crimes committed while he was in relationships with them. The charges include multiple counts of sexual intercourse without consent, aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm, aggravated choke and render a person insensible, and aggravated common assault.
The man appeared briefly in the ACT Magistrates Court today, where his bail application was denied. He remains in custody pending further proceedings.
ACT police are urging anyone who has experienced or knows someone who has experienced sexual violence to contact them at a police station or by calling 131 444.
