Newcastle Horror-Comedy 'Site Unseen' Set for 2026 Release

Newcastle horror-comedy Site Unseen has been acquired by Maslow Entertainment for theatrical distribution in Australia and New Zealand in 2026. The film marks the first feature-length release from Bad Rev Films, a Newcastle production company founded by filmmaker Allan Brady and AACTA-nominated screenwriter Tristram Baumber, who also co-directed the movie.

Shot entirely on location in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, including the basement of Newcastle's Cambridge Hotel, the film was produced by Novocastrians Emily Caelli and LA-based actor-director Zac Garred. The production received support from Cessnock City Council.

The cast includes Olivia Suleimon as real estate agent Kacie Lennon, alongside Garred, Nick Cain, Nadia Talotta, Caelli, and Cameron James. The plot follows Lennon, who is kidnapped by masked killers filming a murderous crusade against her profession. Forced into a deadly competition with a captive colleague, she strikes a desperate bargain to survive in a found-footage horror that satirises Australia's property obsession.

Co-director Allan Brady said the goal was to create a horror-comedy that balances genuine scares with humour. Co-director Tristram Baumber noted that making a slasher film about murdered real estate agents might lead some audiences to cheer for the killer. Maslow Entertainment managing director Marc Wooldridge praised the film as inventive and wild, promising shocks, twists, and sly humour.
