The 67-year-old pop icon is promoting her upcoming studio album Confessions on a Dance Floor II, set for release in four weeks. A Daring Display

The show began when a giant video screen in Times Square opened to reveal Madonna flanked by backup dancers and DJ/producer Stuart Price. They performed a six-song set blending tracks from the new album with classics from its 2005 predecessor, Confessions on a Dance Floor. During the performance, Madonna executed a risky maneuver: she straddled a speaker while lying on a rotating stage, and at one point, dangled one leg over a clear safety barricade, with nothing but the barrier preventing a fall onto the street below. Fans reacted with alarm on social media, with one tweeting, "The way I screamed 'madonna no don't!!!!' when she was hanging over the barricade!" Another commented, "My heart dropped," while a third admitted being "scared to death," recalling the infamous 2016 Brit Awards incident where Madonna was pulled backward down stairs by her cape.

Setlist and Promotion

Madonna debuted the new song Love Sensation, along with two other unreleased tracks from Confessions II. She then revisited 2005 with three hits: Get Together, I Love New York, and the global number one Hung Up. The release strategy for the album has been unconventional; no music video has been released yet, but Madonna will debut a 10-minute short film set to several songs at New York's Tribeca Film Festival this weekend.
