Rumer Willis' ex-boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, has fired back after being accused of abuse by the actress, alleging that she has been exploiting their daughter online. In new legal documents, the singer claimed he never acted 'aggressively or inappropriately' toward Willis despite her bombshell allegations from their ongoing child custody battle, as reported by TMZ on Wednesday.
Thomas Accuses Willis of Exploitation
Thomas also alleged that Willis has used their 3-year-old daughter, Louetta, in sponsored 'adult sexual humour' content that he never consented to, according to Page Six. He stated that he is an active father who FaceTimes the toddler every day, despite being allegedly prohibited from seeing her by Willis, 37, and her changing 'conditions.'
The Common Ground singer further claimed that the Now and Then star initially moved with her daughter to Idaho to escape the toxic air quality during the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. However, she then allegedly tried to stay in the north-central state permanently.
Denial of Drug Use and Child Support Claims
Additionally, Thomas denied allegations that he was on drugs and didn't pay child support, stating that he would be more than willing to contribute $2,350 per month of his income. He also requested a custody schedule for visitation and communication 'that will stabilise what has been an otherwise chaotic and unreasonable situation for Louetta.'
A representative for Rumer was not immediately available for comment.
Willis' Previous Allegations
Last week, the Sorority Row star accused Thomas of 'incessant domestic violence' in a new document after he requested child custody and visitation rights in July 2025, per Us Weekly. Rumer, who requested primary custody, claimed Thomas had a 'persistent pattern' of 'insane emotional abuse' that would allegedly occur in front of Louetta ahead of their break-up in August 2024.
'He engaged in ongoing coercive control through prolonged circular verbal attacks that he is unable or unwilling to stop. [He] engages in this type of attack for over six hours at a time on what became a daily basis,' the court documents read.
The Hostage star alleged that Thomas' 'erratic and bizarre' actions 'escalated' after their daughter was born in April 2023. 'I was constantly trying to keep the peace and walk on eggshells,' she claimed. 'He wanted to isolate me from my friends and family. He constantly called me a liar with no reason behind it. He told me I was a bad girlfriend all the time.'
Rumer continued, 'He had paranoid behaviour saying that my mother and I were plotting to take Louetta away from him. He got very mad at me when I would not let his mother smoke weed in my house when Louetta was a newborn.'
Impact on Daughter
The internet personality claimed Thomas' actions left their daughter 'traumatised,' citing his alleged actions for why she doesn't want him to have visitation rights 'without a 730 child custody evaluation.' Additionally, Rumer accused him of being 'so high' and unable to watch Louetta for even a few 'minutes without her rolling off the couch.' She alleged that Louetta once fell off the bed in November 2023.
Demi Moore also added to the allegations, claiming that Thomas was aggressive when Louetta was born, and he had 'no consideration to Rumer, the baby, the process, or anyone else for that matter.'
Thomas' Response
Thomas initially responded to the filing, stating, 'I have committed no acts of domestic violence in any form, including any active coercive control. [Our] relationship was unhealthy and appropriately came to an end, but it was not at all characterised by any violence, physical or emotional attacks or intimidation on my part.' His lawyer also slammed the allegations as 'substantially inaccurate.'
