Western Australia might be a great place to raise a family, but frustrated singles in Perth feel it could also be 'the worst place ever to date any men'.
Local dating series 1Rose AU took to the city's streets to ask women how they would describe the local dating scene. Sorry, fellas—it wasn't positive.
In a clip shared on Instagram, one woman said it was 'pretty s***', another labelled dating in Perth 'boring', while one more said it's 'just not it'.
Local woman Holly dismissed WA's male singles, claiming she had travelled across Australia and found men closer to home the least appealing.
'I've been in like all places, like states, and Perth is like the worst place ever to date any men,' she said. 'They all think they're better than every girl.'
When asked why women felt put off by the local dating pool, one woman suggested local men behave more like a 'princess' than she does. 'I'm the man in the relationship,' she said. Another described them as 'just boys'.
It is no surprise the strong opinions drew criticism in the comments from men eager to balance the ledger.
'I have lived all over the world, and opposite to these women, I believe Perth women are money and fame chasing, that's my opinion from someone who has travelled and lived around the world and Australia,' one man said.
'Hmm interesting how EVERY girl always says the same thing. I wonder if they ever stop and think maybe they're the problem,' another posed.
Others laughed off the comments, poking fun at the 'triggered' men writing them. 'The single Perth men are crying in the comment sections smh you've triggered them,' one man said.
However, some women also chimed in to defend those in the clip and to call out male keyboard warriors firing shots.
'Can't agree with this more!' one said. 'I think they all took it personally, if they know they're good men and are date-able they wouldn't be so offended, it's just because they're single and failing,' another added.
