Lauren Bennett Died Weeks Before Death Made Public

English singer Lauren Bennett, best known for her vocals on LMFAO's 2011 hit 'Party Rock Anthem' and as a member of girl group G.R.L., died on May 29 at the age of 36, according to coroner records obtained by USA Today. Her death was only made public on Monday night, July 6, more than a month after her passing.

Death Announcement by G.R.L.

The news was broken by Bennett's former group G.R.L., with members Emmalyn Estrada, Paula Van Oppen, and Natasha Slayton taking to social media to share their grief. 'It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,' the statement read. 'Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.'

Details of Her Death

Bennett died in England, just weeks before what would have been her 37th birthday on June 29. Her cause of death remains unknown, and an inquest into the circumstances surrounding her death has been scheduled for October. The singer's passing adds to the tragedy that has struck G.R.L., which previously lost member Simone Battle in 2014, months after the group released their smash hit 'Ugly Heart.'
