Linda Kozlowski is striving to remain "calm and focused" amid reports that her ex-husband Paul Hogan is "exhausted" following their son Chance's recent domestic battery charge. The former actress and her Crocodile Dundee co-star, who were married for 24 years before separating in 2014, are enduring a "gut-wrenching" period after their 28-year-old son was charged with domestic battery last month.
With Chance living in Los Angeles with his famous father, Kozlowski is left worrying from afar, hoping "he snaps out of this funk," while Hogan handles the situation hands-on, according to an insider speaking to Woman's Day.
A united front for their son
"They both privately agree Chance is an impressionable character who's fallen into some very bad habits and a dodgy friend group that's repeatedly led him astray," the source said. While the former couple have been "united" regarding Chance's wellbeing, Kozlowski believes a change of scenery could benefit her troubled son.
"Linda would dearly like to see Chance and his dad move from Venice to a more serene and suitable environment, but that's where his friend group is as well as his music crew," the insider added. However, Chance's ambitions of becoming a rock star mean he has no interest in leaving LA, despite a relocation being in his "best interests."
Parenting challenges
"It's a fine line, basically, for both Paul and Linda, because Chance is so headstrong and doesn't take kindly to being lectured or treated like a kid with problems," the source added. The insider described the situation as "any parent's worst nightmare" but noted that Hogan and Kozlowski are "determined" to get through the tough time together.
In May, police were called to Hogan's home, where Chance was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and later charged, with bail set at $27,770. Woman's Day reported that the Aussie icon had reached his limit and was pressuring Kozlowski to take charge.
"Paul's tired. At 86 he just doesn't need to be dealing with this," a well-placed source told the publication. This follows a concerning social media post in January last year, where Chance drunkenly begged someone to "please kill me" in a slurred Instagram video while drinking wine and watching Fat Albert.
