Dwayne Johnson Responds to Baldness Jab Over Shampoo Ad

Dwayne Johnson, widely known as The Rock, has crafted a humorous response after being playfully called out for his latest beauty advertisement. The former professional wrestler turned Hollywood superstar founded a men's grooming brand called Papatui, which offers a range of products including face cream, cologne, deodorant, and nourishing hair shampoo and conditioner.

Johnson features prominently on the poster adverts for the brand, which sparked a social media post from Katy Napier poking fun at the irony of a bald man promoting hair products. "Don't give up on your dreams," Napier wrote. "The Rock is selling shampoo and conditioner, and he's bald."

Rather than taking offense, Johnson responded with a hilarious video. "Ok this made me belly laugh ... HARD," he posted. "And hey, sometimes a demigod's radiant and ravishing hair needs shampoo/conditioner." He reshared Napier's video alongside footage of himself as Maui, the demigod from Disney's Moana, who is known for his long, flowing locks.

Johnson also teased that he would send Napier a "little gift," signing off with, "You're welcome. Love Maui." The actor, who voices Maui in the animated film and is set to play the character in the live-action remake, launched Papatui two years ago and introduced new fragrances to the line in May this year.

In an interview with Men's Health, Johnson reflected on the connection between scent and memory. "Every time I hit the ocean, especially in Hawaii, I smell the ocean, smell the breeze, and that's a core memory for me," he said. "And I love fragrance so much that every morning it's part of my routine. Even if I'm not doing anything, I'm always spraying on new fragrances. And this is such a girl-dad thing, but when I give my little ones a hug in the morning and they say 'You smell so good' it sticks with me. At some point when they grow up, they're going to look back and be like, 'Remember every morning how dad always smelled so good?'"
