TV and radio personality Clint Stanaway got emotional as he revealed he is expecting a baby with a fellow TV star, despite not being a couple. The 43-year-old Nova host shared the happy news on the Jase, Lauren & Clint show, announcing that he will become a father for the first time with Eliza Paschke pregnant with his child.
“I’m going to be having a baby with a really good friend of mine,” Stanaway announced on air, much to the delight of co-hosts Jason Hawkins and Lauren Phillips. “Her name’s Eliza and we’re going to be using a co-parenting model to have this child. We’re going to have a different looking family but a family that’s not going to have any shortage of love in it.”
Eliza Paschke Shares the News
Paschke, who rose to fame on The Block in 2023, also announced the happy news on her Instagram alongside an ultrasound photo. “Becoming a Mum is something I’ve always thought about and openly discussed,” the 40-year-old wrote. “Today I’m 16 weeks pregnant, and feeling immensely grateful to be in this position. I know there will be lots of questions, which I’ll answer over time.”
Paschke reposted Stanaway’s radio announcement on the joint Instagram account she shares with sister Liberty, who was her partner on The Block. “So happy to be sharing the experience with this wonderful human @cstanaway,” she captioned the repost. Sister Liberty commented, “Just over the moon for you both and so excited to be an aunty and spoil this little baby beyond.”
Stanaway’s Emotional Reaction
In his radio announcement, Stanaway said he “almost passed out” at the baby’s first ultrasound scan. “It took my breath away, it really did, and I can’t wait for you to meet my little boy or girl,” he said on air while becoming emotional.
Paschke’s Journey to Motherhood
Motherhood was always a dream for Paschke, who has been open about starting a family. In 2024, she revealed she had decided to freeze her eggs. “I was 32 and single with no assets to my name and had saved up just enough money for an overseas holiday,” she wrote in an op-ed. “Instead of going on that holiday, I made a $10,000 investment in my future. It was an expensive and risky investment considering it may inevitably fail, or may never actually be used. This is because there’s no guarantees with egg retrievals.”
Paschke said she was lucky to retrieve 12 eggs, giving her a “25 per cent chance of a baby.” At the time, she wrote, “The odds are against me, and at 38 now, I’m not even sure if I want children anymore. But knowing I took matters into my own hands then, and knowing I have a security blanket waiting in the wings should I choose to go down the kids path soon, feels bloody good. So do I regret foregoing an overseas trip for egg freezing? Absolutely not. It was worth every penny, and remains the best decision and experience of my life.”
Congratulations to the parents-to-be!
