Chris Hemsworth has shared the embarrassing mistake that once prevented him from boarding an international flight. The 42-year-old Thor star and his wife, Elsa Pataky, recounted the mix-up in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar Arabia.
The Australian actor revealed that he mistakenly packed the wrong passport for his son, resulting in the pair being denied boarding and missing their flight. "I actually went to the airport once, and I had my daughter's passport instead of my son's passport," he said.
In an attempt to salvage the situation, Hemsworth admitted to the magazine that he tried to use his son's passport for his daughter, hoping it would allow them to board the flight. The dad-of-three recalled telling the security agent, 'This is her,' only to be met with, 'That's a boy.' "They kind of look the same," Hemsworth joked.
Ms Pataky then chimed in, telling him bluntly: "They don't." "So, yeah, that didn't work," Hemsworth concluded.
Hemsworth and Ms Pataky, along with their three children—India Rose, 14, and 12-year-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan—moved to Byron Bay in 2015 from Los Angeles, California. The Hollywood actor recently revealed why he decided to move back to Australia.
"It was right around the time my boys were born, and it was just, we kind of were set up in LA and not enjoying it, you know?" Hemsworth told Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett during an episode of the SmartLess podcast. "Like nothing was shooting there. We were filming kind of everywhere else. And then… you'd come home and paparazzi and all the sort of the trappings of living in that space."
The actor previously revealed he has a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's disease. The grim discovery was made while he was filming episode five of the National Geographic docuseries, Limitless. During the show, longevity physician Dr. Peter Attia informs Hemsworth he is eight to ten times more likely to develop the disease because he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene.
