British R&B singer KWN has achieved global stardom after starting his career as an Amazon delivery driver. His debut album, 'Midnight Chronicles,' reached number one in the UK, US, and Australia within weeks of its release.
From Delivery Driver to Chart-Topper
KWN, whose real name is Kwame Nkosi, worked as an Amazon driver in London for two years before his music career took off. He would write lyrics during his breaks and record demos in his small flat.
In 2024, he uploaded a song to SoundCloud that went viral, leading to a record deal with Sony Music. His debut single 'Rise Up' garnered over 50 million streams on Spotify.
The Breakthrough Album
'Midnight Chronicles,' released in March 2026, sold 1.2 million copies in its first week globally. The album blends R&B with Afrobeat influences, reflecting his Ghanaian heritage.
According to the Official Charts Company, KWN is the first British male R&B artist to top the US Billboard 200 in over a decade. He also holds the record for the most streamed debut album by a UK artist on Apple Music.
Recognition and Impact
KWN has been nominated for four Brit Awards and three Grammys. In an interview, he said: 'I never imagined this would happen. Driving that van, I just wanted to make music that people could feel.'
His success has inspired many young people from working-class backgrounds. The singer has pledged to donate a portion of his tour proceeds to music education programs in underserved communities.
Future Plans
KWN is currently on a world tour, with sold-out shows in London, New York, and Sydney. He plans to release a second album in 2027 and launch a foundation to support aspiring musicians.
