Oceanic Bar and Grill is preparing for its June relaunch, with a major transformation bringing a fresh new face to the venue. The $1.3 million renovation will feature open dining spaces, marina-inspired interiors, natural timber textures, and greenery throughout the venue.
New Features and Design
The redesign also includes elevated food and beverage spaces and sports viewing areas with different sound systems so patrons can watch multiple games in a way that won’t affect each other. The venue has new seating to accommodate its 600-person capacity.
New Management and Menu
Now under new management by multi-award-winning hospitality operator Daman Phull, the venue will also have an all-new 80-dish menu focused on fresh seafood alongside pub classics. “Coastal dining has always been my passion,” Mr Phull said. “I’ve been looking for a place near the water, and when I found this location, I fell in love straight away. The food offering is quite extensive and comprehensive. It’s going to have a good choice of seafood dishes and a mix of classics that highlight fresh ingredients and simple flavours with a gourmet finish.”
Mr Phull also operates The Wray Hotel in Fremantle, which was named best sporting entertainment venue at last year’s Australian Hotels Association WA Hospitality Awards and best casual pub dining in 2024. He said Oceanic’s new menu would be in a similar vein to that of The Wray.
Leadership Team
Leading the venue with him is newly appointed venue manager Brandon Debono and executive chef Craig Zaccheus. Mr Phull said he wanted Oceanic to feel like a “mini holiday” for its patrons. “Our main goal was to create a vibe that felt like a place to rejuvenate for the next day,” he said. “Even though you’re clocking off at 5pm, when you come to Oceanic, you get to relax for a couple of hours.”
