Subiaco's Irish Club Faces Uncertain Future as Site Hits Market

After nearly 50 years of serving Guinness and hosting Irish accents, the Irish Club in Subiaco may be facing its last call. The building at Townshend Road has been listed for sale, with Ray White Commercial seeking $2 million. The property is zoned for city centre development, allowing up to four storeys, which could attract developers and threaten the club's long-standing tenancy.

The two-storey building sits on 608 square metres of land and offers about 800 square metres of internal space, including a ballroom, stage, commercial kitchen, and bars. It holds a 400-person capacity club licence. The listing promotes its potential for redevelopment or use as a club, office, function centre, or place of worship.

Meanwhile, construction is set to begin next month on Cedar Woods' Incontro project in Subiaco, a 110-unit complex of apartments and townhouses on Salvado Street. The project, which was shelved in 2022 due to rising costs, has been revived with builder EMCO Building. Completion is expected by mid-2027.

In other Subiaco news, retail spaces are being offered at 110 Marine Parade, adjacent to the Cottesloe Beach Hotel. The shops, ranging from 55 to 204 square metres, are described as a rare opportunity along the popular food and beverage strip. The former Mediterranean restaurant on Rokeby Road, sold for $3.133 million, also has approved plans for a five-storey development.
