Mandurah Forum's indoor food court will close by the end of the month, with British retailer TK Maxx rumored to take its place. Forum management has declined to comment on the new tenant, expected to open in October, but confirmed it will introduce a new international retailer to the building.
A spokesperson from Vicinity Centres, the forum's management, said the closure is part of a long-term strategy to evolve the centre and enhance customer experience. The project will introduce a new international retailer and a new communal seating area near Woolworths, creating a welcoming space for the community.
Social media speculation has long pointed to cut-price retailer TK Maxx as the new arrival. PerthNow has contacted TK Maxx for comment but has yet to receive a response. The centre also plans to move an outdoor playground adjoining the food court, though formal plans are not finalized.
The alfresco dining area is undergoing transformation, with the current water feature to be removed to make way for more seating and a kids zone. These works are expected to be complete in June, with outdoor retailers continuing trade during construction.
The spokesperson emphasized that the centre will remain open and trading throughout the works, with a focus on ensuring customers can continue to enjoy their visit. Retailers directly impacted by the reconfiguration were engaged individually and offered relocation opportunities within the centre.
