Kmart and Target Recall Drink Bottles Over Lid Hazard Risk

A popular 2L stainless steel drink bottle sold at Kmart and Target has been recalled after incidents where the lid can violently eject when exposed to hot liquids, posing a risk of injury.

The recall, published on productsafety.gov.au, affects bottles sold in khaki and black colors. The fault involves lid threading that shrinks when in contact with hot liquids, potentially causing the lid to shoot off like a projectile.

The company warns that this can lead to lacerations from impact or burn injuries from hot liquids. Customers are advised to stop using the bottles for hot liquids immediately.
