BMG Launches Round-the-Clock Drilling to Expand Wiluna Gold Resource

BMG Resources has commenced a 24-hour diamond drilling campaign at its Abercromby gold project near Wiluna, Western Australia, aiming to expand the current 518,000-ounce resource. The drilling follows advanced preparations flagged in mid-November and will target high-grade gold zones beyond the existing resource model.

The first diamond core hole is being drilled at the southern end of the Capital deposit to a planned depth of 430 metres. This extensional drilling will be followed by comprehensive infill drilling to upgrade inferred resources to the higher-confidence indicated category, supporting future resource and mining reserve development.

The current resource estimate comprises 11.12 million tonnes at 1.45 g/t gold for 518,000 ounces, including 354,000 ounces at 1.17 g/t from surface. An underground component holds 164,000 ounces at 3.09 g/t between 200 and 500 metres depth. Only 1.2 kilometres of the 6-kilometre prospective stratigraphy has been adequately tested.

After the current phase, BMG plans diamond and reverse circulation drilling in 2024 to test targets south along strike, including the Barrack and Archer prospects. Air-core drilling at Barrack returned 4 metres at 1.46 g/t gold, while Archer yielded intercepts of 0.99 g/t, 1.21 g/t, and 3.58 g/t gold.

Recent metallurgical testwork by Extreme Metallurgy confirmed the gold is free milling with recoveries of 93–95%, amenable to carbon-in-leach processing. The project benefits from established infrastructure including roads and grid power. BMG is fully funded following a $1.5 million capital raise from sophisticated and institutional investors.
