A severe thunderstorm warning for Western Australia's south has been cancelled on Monday as temperatures plummet across the Perth metropolitan area.
Perth Temperature Drop
Up to 9mm of rain is expected on Monday as the temperature peaks at just 15C. The mercury will drop to only 3C in the city on Monday evening into Tuesday morning, rising to 16C with partly cloudy conditions.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will all bring a high of 17C after overnight lows of just 5C for three consecutive days. Saturday will see a minor temperature increase to 18C, after an overnight low of 6C.
Rain will set in on Sunday, with up to 3mm expected and an 18C maximum. Monday will bring up to 7mm of rain with a maximum of 9C.
Storm Warning Cancelled
Perth's freezing temperatures come after a severe thunderstorm warning was cancelled for WA's south coast on Monday morning. Despite the cancellation, rainfall remained heavy — 24mm of rain was recorded at Jerdacuttup between Bremer Bay and Esperance in the hour before 6am.

- Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
- Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live.
- Assess your home, car and property for damage.
- If damage has occurred take photos and contact your insurance company to organise permanent repairs.
- If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132 500.
