Mandurah's eastern foreshore is set to sparkle this winter with a host of cosy activities, including ice skating, rides, entertainment, and markets, to help residents and visitors forget the cold.
Ice Skating Returns to Eastern Foreshore
The popular pop-up ice rink will return to the eastern foreshore from July 3 to 19. Tickets are now on sale for skating sessions, with the rink open daily from 9am during the school holidays. Each session lasts 45 minutes and starts every hour on the hour. The rink is perfect for beginners, with 'kanga' push-along skating aids available to help first-timers find their feet. It is also wheelchair accessible, ensuring an inclusive experience for everyone.
Winter in Mandurah Program
Beyond the ice rink, the winter in Mandurah program includes Friday night markets throughout July, as well as a range of rides, amusements, entertainment, and daily family-friendly activities on the eastern foreshore during the school holidays. The popular 'Secret Sounds of the City' will also return, featuring live performances every fortnight across June, July, and August.
Mayor Encourages Community Participation
City of Mandurah Mayor Amber Kearns said winter in Mandurah is an ideal time for locals and visitors to find new ways to enjoy the city. “Whether you’re lacing up your skates, grabbing a hot drink, or enjoying the atmosphere along the foreshore, it’s about making the most of the season,” she said. “If you’ve never tried skating before or have never been part of the Secret Sounds of the City, this is your time.”
Mayor Kearns highlighted that the program also supports local businesses during the quieter winter period. “Winter in Mandurah gives people a reason to get together, explore the city, and enjoy everything our local businesses have to offer,” she said. “Bring the kids, bring your friends, bring your grandparents – there’s something for everyone.”
