Police have released CCTV footage showing a man setting fire to a luxury Mercedes SUV in the driveway of a home in Roselands, southwest Sydney, early Monday morning.
Footage of the Arson Attack
The footage, released by police, shows a man dressed in a high-visibility vest dousing the Mercedes in an accelerant about 1am. He then set the car alight and fled the scene on foot. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the vehicle was completely destroyed.
A Toyota Hilux parked on the same street, Stoddart St, was also doused in fuel and sustained minor damage.
Police Investigation
Police believe the attack was targeted. The suspect is believed to have left the scene in a light-coloured sedan. Authorities have called on anyone with information, including the identity of the man, to contact Campsie Police or Crime Stoppers.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 1am on Monday. The man was wearing high-visibility clothing during the attack.
