A Sydney beach has been evacuated following a shark sighting, just two days after a woman sustained critical injuries in a shark attack at Coogee.
Shark Spotted at Bilgola Beach
The shark was spotted at Bilgola Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches at approximately 1:58 PM on Monday, according to the community shark alert website Dorsal. Beachgoers were immediately ordered to leave the water after the sighting.
Coogee Attack Victim Still Critical
This evacuation comes after 35-year-old Leah Stewart was attacked by a great white shark while swimming at Coogee Beach on Saturday. Stewart remains in a critical condition in hospital.
