Australian snowboarders Tess Coady and Meila Stalker have secured their spots in the women's big air final at the Winter Olympics, while compatriot Ally Hickman missed out after tense qualifying runs.
Earlier in the day, Australians Seve de Campo and Hugo Hinckfuss finished 56th and 57th respectively in the men's cross-country skiathlon, won by Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo.
Queenslander Alex Ferlazzo advanced to the final round of the men's luge, finishing 18th out of 20 in Cortina.
The day also saw a dramatic crash involving US star Lindsey Vonn, who tore her ACL during the women's downhill skiing and had to be evacuated by helicopter.
In figure skating, the United States won gold in the Team event by a narrow margin, with Japan taking silver and Italy securing an historic bronze.
