Plans for a new $2.5 million childcare centre in Nollamara have been submitted to State planners, aiming to transform a vacant block of land into a vital community facility.
Proposed Development Details
The project, valued at $2.5 million, is earmarked for a site at the corner of Flinders Street and Windemere Crescent, just off Morley Drive. Current plans, now open for public consultation, outline a 504-square-metre single-storey childcare centre. It will feature four activity rooms and associated amenities, with capacity for up to 72 children and 11 staff members.
Operating Hours and Access
The centre is proposed to operate Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, catering for children aged zero to five years. Car and pedestrian access will be via Windemere Crescent, with 21 on-site car parking bays included in the design.
Site History and Next Steps
Since a house on the site was demolished in late 2016, the block has remained unoccupied. The development application is available for public feedback on the City of Stirling website until June 26. The Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel will make the final decision on the application.
This proposed childcare centre aims to address growing demand for early childhood education and care in the Nollamara area, providing a modern facility for local families. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the plans and submit their comments before the deadline.
