Police have charged a 30-year-old Lockridge man over an alleged burglary and indecent assault in Bassendean early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred on Nurstead Avenue, where a 59-year-old woman was woken at around 2:30am by a torch shone in her face.
According to a police spokesman, the alleged offender demanded money and ransacked the woman's bedroom. Police allege the burglar indecently assaulted the 59-year-old while she was showing him where to find her money.
The man has been charged with aggravated burglary, stealing, and indecent assault. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
