A three-year-old boy who tragically died in a house fire in Melbourne's southwest has been remembered as a "bubble of energy" by his grieving family. Jordan Dashwood was in the living room with the family's two dogs when their home on Newbury Street in Werribee erupted in flames just after midnight on Monday.
Jordan's 11-year-old brother managed to escape by jumping from a window, while their father, Jeremy Dashwood, desperately tried to reach the toddler. However, Jordan could not be saved. The 40-year-old father suffered serious burns and was taken to Alfred Hospital, where he remains in a coma.
Family's Heartbreak
Jordan's grandmother, Tracie Long, expressed the family's devastation. "I just miss that little man already. He's so precious. He was so delightful. He was a bubble of energy. He was everything," she said.
Emergency crews brought the blaze under control around 1:15 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with authorities examining whether an e-scooter may have played a role. Long said Jordan's mother heard a loud bang before the fire broke out.

Members of the community have taken to social media to pay tribute to the little boy and offer support to his family.
