Teen Charged After Bottle Attack on Woolworths Worker

Shocking footage has emerged of a teenage boy allegedly striking a Woolworths worker with a bottle in northern New South Wales. The incident occurred at Woolworths Goonellabah, approximately three kilometres east of Lismore, on May 17 at about 12:20 pm.

The 55-year-old employee was challenging four teenagers over alleged shoplifting when he was struck in the face. CCTV footage shows the group walking out of an aisle holding items before one, wearing a grey jumper, suddenly turns and swings a bottle towards two staff members behind them.

The worker falls to the ground from the impact as the teenagers flee, while another staff member runs after the boy in the grey jumper. The injured worker was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital with serious facial injuries.
