Police are urging Canberrans to secure their homes and vehicles after multiple armed offenders targeted an Evatt home over the long weekend. The incident occurred on McGill Street at approximately 2am on Sunday, May 31.
Details of the Incident
ACT Policing reported that burglars disturbed residents inside the house before one of the occupants chased them outside. Once outside, the occupant was confronted by three people, two of whom threatened the resident with knives. The offenders were all wearing dark hooded jumpers, black facial coverings, and dark or grey pants. The group was last seen running towards the Ginninderra Creek green belt, near McGill Street, towards Read Place.

ACT Policing is reminding the community to ensure their homes and vehicles are secure at all times. Offenders continue to try and gain entry to residences to steal vehicle keys and other valuables. Anyone with information about the Evatt incident or dashcam footage of the area before 2am on Sunday morning has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers ACT quoting reference number 8401460.
