Latest Incidents
The most recent incident occurred on Tonkin Highway northbound in Gosnells, where a crash near Albany Highway has forced a lane closure, resulting in heavy traffic buildup on the approach. Drivers are urged to seek alternative routes if possible.
In Applecross, a truck breakdown on Canning Highway eastbound at Ardross Street has reduced traffic to a single lane, causing delays for commuters heading east.
Earlier Crashes
A crash on Leach Highway in Brentwood earlier this morning had reduced Kwinana Freeway northbound to a single lane. Incident response crews and towing services were dispatched to the scene. Several motorists were observed standing outside their vehicles as traffic backed up past Farrington Road and South Street. Although that crash has since been cleared, traffic remains heavy as congestion slowly eases.
A second crash northbound before Leach Highway in Bateman also caused delays after the right lane was closed by response crews. It has since been cleared, and traffic is now flowing through the area.
Other Incidents
Further north, a crash on the southbound entry from Reid Highway onto Tonkin Highway at Beechboro left vehicles stranded in the left emergency lane. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive with caution in that area.
Meanwhile, a vehicle breakdown on Kwinana Freeway southbound before Russell Road in Atwell is not causing major delays, but drivers have been reminded to take care as the vehicle is stopped on a bend.
