Naked Man Pleads Guilty After Violent Ambulance Rampage in Kalgoorlie
Naked Man Guilty After Ambulance Rampage in Kalgoorlie

A naked man who went on a wild rampage through Kalgoorlie has pleaded guilty to a string of offences. Brian Charles Parfitt, 25, was filmed straddling the bonnet of an ambulance in Kalgoorlie's CBD, where he repeatedly headbutted the windscreen and smashed the window on December 7 last year.

The ambulance reversed and drove forward up and down the street, but Parfitt kept striking the glass and putting his head and hands through the screen. An ambulance crew member came under a violent attack during the incident.

Court Proceedings

Parfitt pleaded guilty in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Thursday to wilful damage, committing an obscene act in public, and endangering the life, health, or safety of a person. He told the court he could not recall the events before entering pleas to two more charges.

The court ordered a verbal pre-sentence report and adjourned the matter until June 10 for sentencing.

Response from St John WA

In a statement after the incident, a St John WA spokesman said it was unacceptable and deeply distressing for the three crews who responded to the call-out. A spokesman said while no one was injured, one of their crews came under violent attack as they went to the aid of their colleagues.

Incidents like this leave a lasting emotional impact, and we stand firmly with our people, a spokesman said.
