Man critical after found injured on Sydney road

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was discovered with severe head injuries on a street in Sydney’s west early Saturday morning. Police are appealing for public assistance as they try to determine how the man came to be hurt.

Discovery on Orchardleigh Street

Emergency services were called to Orchardleigh Street in Yennora around 4:40am on Saturday after reports of an injured man. Upon arrival, they found a man believed to be in his 70s suffering from life-threatening head injuries. Paramedics provided treatment at the scene before rushing him to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Police have stated that they have been unable to speak with the man due to his condition, leaving them with no clear explanation for how he sustained his injuries. “As police have been unable to speak with the man, how he came to be injured is unknown,” a police spokesperson said. “They are speaking with people at the scene who found the injured man and called triple-0.”
