Radio queen Jackie “O” Henderson was a no-show at a Sydney court on Thursday, leaving her lawyers to handle the proceedings in her ongoing legal dispute with KIIS FM owner ARN. The case management hearing at the Federal Court did not require her personal attendance.
Henderson's Lawsuit Against ARN
The 51-year-old broadcaster is suing ARN for wrongful termination and seeking a contract payout of at least $82 million. She and her former co-host Kyle Sandilands were dismissed by the network in March following an on-air confrontation.
ARN confirmed on Wednesday that it had settled a similar claim from Sandilands, agreeing to pay him $12 million. However, the legal battle with Henderson remains unresolved.
Background of the Dispute
The pair were sued by their former employer after they filed separate lawsuits stemming from an on-air spat that led to the cancellation of their show. Both sought the full payout of their 10-year, $100 million contracts signed in late 2023. ARN, however, argued that the controversial duo cost the company key advertising revenue through their dismissal.
The highly publicized feud escalated into legal action after an exchange in February, during which Sandilands accused his co-host of being “off with the fairies.” This prompted Henderson to declare she could no longer work with her contentious colleague.
