A former producer for the reality television show Married at First Sight (MAFS) remains missing after vanishing from Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach more than three weeks ago.
Disappearance Details
Katie Walker, 46, was last seen at Bondi Beach on the evening of May 23, and her last contact with anyone was on May 22. New South Wales Police have expressed concerns for her welfare and stated that investigations are ongoing.
Ms Walker is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 160 centimetres tall, with a thin build, brown eyes, and long brown hair. She has a distinctive small black butterfly tattoo on her right hand. Authorities believe she frequents the areas of Double Bay, Bondi Junction, and Bondi Beach.
Context of MAFS Scrutiny
Her disappearance coincides with increased scrutiny surrounding MAFS, following complaints from contestants about alleged inappropriate behaviour during the 2025 season. According to documents obtained by the Sydney Morning Herald, the popular program received three improvement notices from SafeWork NSW after allegations were raised by three contestants and a viewer.
Reported incidents include a bride being filmed in the shower without her knowledge, non-consensual touching by a groom, and production staff blocking exits to prevent cast members from leaving the set. Additional allegations mention long filming hours, confinement to apartments under curfew, bans on speaking with other participants, and producers allegedly baiting and harassing participants to provoke emotional responses.
Police Appeal
Officers are eager to speak with anyone who might have information that could assist in locating Ms Walker. Anyone with details is urged to contact Crime Stoppers NSW at 1800 333 000 or submit a report online.
