Dubbo Regional Airport was evacuated and closed on Monday morning after a bomb threat was made against an incoming QantasLink flight, police confirmed. The threat, received via a phone call, targeted a flight bound for the airport in New South Wales' Western Plains region.

Airport Evacuated and Flights Disrupted

The terminal was immediately evacuated and closed, causing several hours of flight disruptions. It reopened around 12:40 PM local time. Police stated that the aircraft, carrying 74 passengers and crew, landed safely and all occupants disembarked without incident.

Official Statements and Investigation

Dubbo Mayor Josh Black confirmed the council was notified of the threat. “Dubbo Regional Council was notified of a bomb threat on a plane destined for Dubbo this morning,” he said. “Further investigations are underway by relevant emergency services. People are advised to stay away from the area and there are police barricades in place. If you have a flight today, please contact your airline for further information.”
