Queensland Cop Berates Teen Car Theft Suspects as 'Pork Chops'
Cop Calls Teen Car Thieves 'Pork Chops' in Rant

A Queensland police officer has unleashed a verbal spray on three teenage boys arrested after allegedly stealing a car and driving around, describing them as “pork chops”.

Incident Details

A Toyota Kluger was stolen from Edge Hill in Cairns on Sunday before it was abandoned the following day in Yorkeys Knob after running over a tyre deflation device. Three boys were found nearby and arrested, with police body-worn cameras capturing the dramatic interaction between an officer and the alleged offenders.

The Cairns officer can be heard yelling at one of the boys, telling him to get on the ground as he radios in to his colleagues. He then unleashed on the teenagers, calling out their behaviour and telling them the wider Cairns community had “had enough”.

Officer's Tirade

“The community have had enough,” he can be heard yelling while pointing his finger at the boy. “They’re sick to their guts of you jumping in cars, driving around like pork chops, putting everyone else at risk, going into people’s homes. Who the hell do you think you are, mate?”

Charges Laid

A 16-year-old Cairns North boy was charged with multiple offences including two counts of enter premises and commit, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and trespassing. A 17-year-old Woree boy was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Another 17-year-old Manoora boy was charged with multiple offences including two counts of enter dwelling and commit and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All three were refused bail to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court as investigations into vehicle thefts across the state continue.
