Childcare Centre Destroyed in Suspicious Brisbane Blaze

A Brisbane childcare centre has been completely destroyed after a suspicious fire broke out in the early hours of Monday morning. The blaze engulfed the Treehouse Early Learning Centre on Juers Street, Kingston, shortly before 1am.

Emergency Response

Multiple fire crews arrived at the scene to find the building fully alight. It took approximately one hour to bring the fire under control. A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that police consider the fire suspicious and have declared a crime scene.

Investigation Underway

A police spokesperson stated that the crime scene will remain in place while investigators work to determine the cause of the fire. A fire investigator arrived at the scene around 8:30am to assess the damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The fire caused significant damage to the roof, which partially collapsed. As a result, parents have been informed that the centre will be temporarily closed.

This incident comes just days after a fire destroyed a tyre shop in the same suburb, damaging a building, destroying several cars, and leading to a lockdown in the area.
