A nine-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being struck by a marked police car on Sydney’s north shore on Monday evening.

Incident Details

Around 7:20 pm, a senior police constable was en route to a fire scene when his vehicle hit the child on the Pacific Highway in St Leonards, near Christie Street, where the fire had occurred. The boy was treated at the scene by police officers and paramedics before being taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick, where he remains in a stable condition.

Investigation Underway

The driver, a male senior constable, was breathalysed at the scene and returned a negative result. Police stated on Tuesday that investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
