Shire of Murray Takes Over Licensing and CRC Services
Shire of Murray Takes Over Licensing and CRC Services

The Shire of Murray officially assumed control of licensing services and community resource centre (CRC) operations on July 1, following the cessation of these services by the Murray House Resource Centre. The transition ensures residents maintain access to essential services locally.

Background of the Transition

In April, the Murray House Resource Centre announced it would cease providing Pinjarra Community Resources Centre and Department of Transport services as of June 30. In response, the Shire of Murray collaborated with the State Government to facilitate a seamless continuation of these services under its management. This interim arrangement aims to maintain service availability while plans are developed to relocate CRC services back to the Murray House building at 14 James Street, Pinjarra, as soon as feasible.

New Services Available

From July 6, Murray residents can access vehicle and licensing services at the Shire of Murray administration office. This addition expands the range of services offered by the shire, providing convenience for the community. Shire of Murray CEO Dean Unsworth emphasized the commitment to ensuring ongoing access to essential services. “While services are introduced into our remit, our focus is on a continued quality service,” Mr Unsworth said. “As time goes on, we will be looking to enhance these services further and potentially expand where community demand requires it.”
