Talia Gibson Continues Dream US Run with Fifth Top-20 Win at Miami Open

Australian Talia Gibson has advanced to the fourth round of the Miami Open after defeating 17th-ranked Iva Jovic 6-2, 6-2. The 21-year-old's victory marks her fifth top-20 win in three weeks, following a quarterfinal run at Indian Wells where she beat Ekaterina Alexandrova, Clara Tauson, and Jasmine Paolini.

Gibson's recent performances have propelled her up the WTA rankings. After Indian Wells, she jumped 44 spots to world number 68, and she is set to rise to at least 56th next week, making her the second-highest ranked Australian woman behind Maya Joint.

In the fourth round, Gibson will face Australian Open champion and world number two Elena Rybakina, who defeated Marta Kostyuk 6-3, 6-4. Gibson has previously named Rybakina as one of her favorite players to watch, but she emphasizes developing her own game.
