Australian Open Broadcasters Accused of Djokovic Bias During Sinner Semifinal

Tennis fans have criticized Australian Open broadcasters for perceived bias toward Novak Djokovic during his semifinal loss to Jannik Sinner on Friday. Viewers took to social media to express frustration that commentators focused more on Djokovic's struggles than on Sinner's dominant performance.

Sinner, the world number four, defeated Djokovic 6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3, ending the Serbian's quest for an 11th Australian Open title. The Italian had not dropped a set all tournament and raced through the first two sets in just over 70 minutes.

Fans noted that commentators seemed stunned by Djokovic's difficulties, with some accusing them of making excuses for the 24-time grand slam winner. One user wrote: 'Commentators keep mentioning this game is unbelievable in regard to Novak losing... GOAT bias right here!!!' Another added: 'No credit for Sinner, all excuses for Novak.'

Despite the bias claims, Sinner's performance was widely praised. He held a match point in the third set tie-break but failed to convert, allowing Djokovic to force a fourth set. Djokovic used a seven-minute break to change his outfit, but Sinner maintained his composure to break serve early in the fourth set and close out the match.
