Fin Smith, the 22-year-old fly-half, gets the nod at No. 10, with veteran George Ford named on the bench. He deserves this opportunity.'

Borthwick has made several changes following the Premiership final, where Northampton beat Bath. Scrum-half Alex Mitchell, who scored a try in that match, starts ahead of Ben Youngs. In the forwards, hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie returns from injury, and lock Charlie Ewels partners Maro Itoje.
