Western Force Star Darby Lancaster Sidelined for Season with Injury

The Western Force have confirmed that winger Darby Lancaster will miss the remainder of the Super Rugby season due to injury. The news comes as the club celebrated its 2026 Nathan Sharpe Medal night at the WACA's Wally Edwards Function Centre.

Lancaster, who has been a key player for the Force, suffered the injury during a recent match. The club has not disclosed the specific nature of the injury but confirmed it will require an extended recovery period.

The Force's top individual honor, the Nathan Sharpe Medal, was awarded to Vaiolini Ekuasi. The Kiwi back-rower was voted by players on a 3-2-1 basis after each game. Vice-captain Nick Champion de Crespigny received the Force Man Award for the second consecutive season.

The event also recognized the club's 2026 debutants and departing players, along with 10 player milestones. Approximately 300 guests, including board members, current players, coaches, staff, past players, sponsors, and media, attended the glitzy ceremony.

Lancaster's absence will be a blow to the Force as they look to finish the season strongly. The club has not yet announced a replacement for the injured winger.
